WHAT CAN GO INTO A DUMPSTER?

Household junk and debris from construction or home improvement projects are typically allowed in a dumpster. This includes remodeling debris such as drywall, lumber, flooring, cabinetry and siding, as well as general household items from decluttering projects.

Certain local waste ordinances prevent us from disposing of certain items. If you are not sure about a particular item, please call us at (423) 416-0424 to find out what is acceptable in your area.

Acceptable Materials

  • Cardboard and Paper

  • Bricks and Concrete (small amounts, call to inquire)

  • Steel, Pipes, Angle Iron, Sheet Metal, and Cast Iron

  • Asphalt roofing shingles

  • Carpet, Tile, Linoleum, Hardwood Flooring

  • Siding, Vinyl, Aluminum and Steel

  • General Construction (Anything that attaches to a house, i.e., Toilets, Sinks, Drywall)

  • Lumber (Treated & Painted)

  • Mattresses and Box Springs

  • Plaster and Sheetrock

  • Plastics or Foam

  • Glass

  • Yard Waste

Prohibited Materials

  • Liquids

  • Tires

  • Batteries

  • Freon

  • Paint Cans & Lacquers

  • Yardwaste

  • Medical Waste

  • Hazardous Materials

  • Contaminated Soils

  • Household Cleaners

  • Oil, Fuel, Propane Tanks

  • Railroad Ties

  • Asbestos (in some areas, please call to inquire for your area)

  • Industrial Drums
